Race 10 of 33: Drydene 200
Track Specs: 1.0 mile Oval
Race Winner: Austin Cindric
Weatherman’s Finish: 22nd
The Monster Mile is the scene of this week’s battle in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. After a disappointing finish at Darlington as a result of two flat right rears, Kyle Weatherman takes the green with Thin Blue Line USA aboard the #47 Mike Harmon Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
Stage One Finish: 26th
Starting 32nd for Saturday’s Drydene 200, Weatherman had his work cut out for him as he took the green flag. Weatherman was able to make moves on the first stage run. With just the competition caution, and a single-car spin caution, the first stage was uneventful and Weatherman was able to gain 6 positions through the first stage run.
Stage Two Finish:28th
After bringing the #47 Thin Blue Line Chevrolet down to the service of Teddy Brown and the Mike Harmon Racing pit crew for a great pitstop, Weatherman realized that the crew could not hear him and that his in-car radio had died. He quickly brought the #47 back down pit road for a new radio putting him at the end of the longest line but still on the lead lap. Stage 2 would be no different than stage one until two laps left in the stage when a 3 car pileup ended the stage under caution and caused a red flag to come out to clear the track. Kyle would finish the stage 28th, one lap down, as he was overtaken by the leader under the long green-flag run.
Final Stage Finish: 22nd
The final stage was like the rest. Uneventful in the cautions but good racing all over the track. Austin Cindric would take the lead with 51 laps remaining and never looked back. With a caution-free run leaving only 12 cars on the lead lap, Weatherman brought the Thin Blue Line car home P22.
