Race 29 of 33: Drive for the Cure 250

Track Specs: 2.32 Mile Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Race Winner: AJ Allmendinger

Weatherman’s Finish: 23rd

The #47 AXE Crossbow Chevrolet Camaro rolled into Charlotte Motor Speedway this past Saturday to do battle on the ROVAL! Kyle Weatherman was excited to come back after a good run in the rain last year that was cut short due to a radio failure that brought him in to diagnose and replace the radio per NASCAR safety rules. The AXE Crossbow team had high hopes for a successful Drive for the Cure 250!

Stage One Finish: 28th

Weatherman would line up to take the green flag in 24th position but would have to bring the AXE Crossbows Chevrolet down to pits due to a sticking throttle. Weatherman would come out just in time to catch up to the tail end of the field to take the green. Weatherman piloted the #47 AXE Crossbows Chevrolet through early cautions saving his equipment and gaining valuable track position. Weatherman would bring home a 28th place Stage One finish.

Stage Two Finish: 30th

Staying out for track position, Weatherman would restart 15thWeatherman would hold his own for a while until the older tires showed their age causing him to get shuffled back. With a couple of debris cautions, Weatherman would come in for fresh tires before the end of the stage for a 30th place Stage Two finish.

Final Stage Finish: 23rdth

Weatherman would restart 13th after the round of pit stops. With track position so important, Weatherman would hold off hard-charging cars for the first part of the 3rd and final stage. Weatherman would eventually fall to fresher tires and hold on for a 23rd place finish.
