Wolfpack Racing Report – Beef! It’s What’s for Dinner 300 – February 19th, 2022
Race 1 of 33: Beef! It’s What’s for Dinner 300
Track Specs: Daytona International Speedway 2.5-mile Tri-Oval
Race Winner: Austin Hill
Weatherman’s Finish:32nd
With a fresh look and new team, Kyle Weatherman headed to Daytona with the DGM Racing #92 LS Tractor USA Chevrolet Camaro. After an amazing run in last year’s Beef! It’s What’s for Dinner 300, Weatherman couldn’t wait to get back to the high-banked 2.5-mile tri-oval.
Stage One Finish: 18th
Weatherman would take the green flag 23rd but didn’t waste any time moving up to 13th. Weatherman took the opportunity to learn what lanes were doing what and what cars he would be able to work with. With a single caution in Stage One, Weatherman would pilot the #92 LS Tractor USA Chevrolet to an 18th place finish.
Stage Two Finish: 19th
Weatherman would report a tight condition to Crew Chief Nathan Kennedy and the DGM crew would make quick work of the pit stop and make needed changes to make the LS Tractor USA Chevrolet go where Weatherman needed. After taking the green flag Weatherman would get hung out and drop back to 32nd, but didn’t stay there long, working his way back into the top 25, hashing it out for the caution-free second stage. After a round of green flag stops and picking up spots on pit road, Weatherman would pick up a 19th place Stage 2 finish.
Final Stage Finish:32nd
At the start of the final stage, you could tell the drivers were buckling down for an exciting finish. Weatherman would get up to 13th when the 38 got loose on the lower line went down to the apron and turned right connecting with the left front of the #92 LS Tractor USA Chevrolet taking him out of contention.
“Definitely didn’t go as planned!” said Weatherman, “Ended up getting wrecked off of 4. Proud of the DGM Racing team and thanks to LS Tractor for the support. Off to Auto Club Speedway with Police Officers Research Association of California on the #92 team!
