Race 19 of 33: Ambetter Get Vaccinated 200
Track Specs: 1.058 oval New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Race Winner: Christopher Bell
Weatherman’s Finish: 19th
The Mike Harmon team pulled into New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a chip on their shoulder after having a string of part failures causing finishing positions not consistent with the way the #47 Axe Crossbows Chevrolet has been running. New Hampshire had to be a redemption race.
Stage One Finish: 15th
Starting 34th for the beginning of the AmBetter Get Vaccinated 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Weatherman showed early on the speed that the MHR team had worked hard to produce. Climbing all the way up to 24th before the competition caution came out at lap 22. Weatherman would stay out when a handful of leaders would come in for service. Weatherman would restart in 12th position and finish the 1st stage with a 15th place finish.
Stage Two Finish: 18th
A penalty for a man over the wall too early on pit road put Weatherman at the end of the longest line for the Stage 2 restart. Weatherman would get up on the wheel and pick his way back through the pack and with no cautions in Stage 2, Weatherman would have to earn each spot the hard way. Weatherman would take the Axe Crossbows Chevrolet to an 18th place finish in Stage 2.
Final Stage Finish:19th
Weatherman would restart the 3rd and final stage 24th after a quick stop for service from the MHR crew. Weatherman would drive up to as high as 14th during the 3rd stage continuing to showcase the speed the team has been showing. After a late-race caution Weatherman would bring the Axe Crossbows Chevrolet down for the last service of the MHR crew. He would restart 22nd for the final restart. Picking up 3 spots before the checkered flag, Weatherman would finish 19th finally getting a well-deserved top 20 finish.
“What a great day for the Mike Harmon Racing Axe Crossbows #47 Chevrolet Camaro,” said Kyle Weatherman. “We have been running well this season but have not been able to show the finishes for it. We’ve either had a late-race caution or a mechanical failure that has dropped us 10 to 15 positions from where we had been running. We look forward to the upcoming Olympic break and we’ll take today and build on it.”
